Mind-Body Skills Group for Coaches
Â
Learn Mind-Body Skills for Self-Care
OR Learn Mind-Body Skills that You Can Integrate Into Your Coaching Practice
Mind-body skills groups are educational, supportive groups that offer participants an opportunity to learn self-care strategies and experience evidence-based techniques to enhance health and well-being.
In this mind-body skills group for coaches, coaches will learn and practice experiential and integrative mind-body techniques, including meditation, guided imagery, autogenic training, breath work, awareness through movement, and mindful eating in a supportive environment that nourishes self-awareness and enhances active listening skills.Â
Participants share and connect with each other, creating a positive learning environment that supports individual and collective well-being.Â
This group series is expanded upon and based on the work of Dr. James Gordon, the founder of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, who is world-renowned for his use of self-awareness, self-care, and group support for healing.Â
Mind-body skills groups have been researched and proven to increase quality of life and decrease depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbance.1,2  They have also been shown to decrease personal distress and increase empathy in nursing and medical students,3 and have been proven to mitigate symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in wart-raumatized veterans. 4

About The Instructor
Â
The Mind-Body Skills Groups for Coaches are facilitated by Dr. Jessica Singh, MD, NBC-HWC, ACC, the founder of Sukhayu Wellness and the Center for Health and Wellness Coaches. Her health and wellness journey began years ago when she was an emergency medicine physician in-training, learning how to enhance her own well-being and recover from burnout. She is now a holistic integrative coach, yoga instructor and practitioner, Ayurvedic wellness counselor, interactive guided imagery guide, mind-body skills practitioner, author (first book in progress on how to enhance fulfillment and well-being as a physician!) and healthcare provider wellness consultant. Dr. Singh is excited and grateful to facilitate this group, in which she expands upon the mind-body skills group model developed by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine.
Â
Realizing the importance of community, mentorship, and networking through her own professional journey, Dr. Singh created the Center for Health and Wellness Coaches to help facilitate the sharing of knowledge and support the professional development of health and wellness coaches.
Â
Dr. Singh received her Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and completed emergency medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.
